nHot-Spotlight: Honor Hand

nHot-Spotlight: Honor Hand

Since Gogo has left the web team, I’ve decided to take over her interviewing segment, but I’ve mixed it up a bit. Welcome to the nHot-Spotlight! A weekly segment where I will interview members of the community and learn their deepest darkest secrets… Then I will share it all with you! Enjoy.

Now the hardest part of this endeavor was deciding who I should interview first. It had to be someone groundbreakingly interesting enough to fire this segment back up. I thought of the perfect person for the job…

Honor Hand

The man of mystery himself, Honor Hand. By far one of nHotspot’s most enigmatic members, this administrator prefers to lurk in the shadows, fine tuning and managing the nHotspot forum. He is a quiet individual who rarely makes an appearance on the chat, in fact, 90% of members have never even seen him! His work is revered, and he has many fans, but so little is known about him, until now that is…He agreed to grace me with an interview under a few conditions, one of which being that he would be allowed to do the interview while concealed behind a cardboard cutout of Felicia. Here is how it went:

GS: Question #1: Tell us a bit about yourself. Be as specific as you please.

HH: Well, obviously everybody knows me here. Been frequenting this site for a long time now. Never thought I`d became an admin here. I just came and tried to help people with what I could offer at the time and here I am. Before continuing, I promise I will keep these answers as short as possibles lol

Far as personality goes, I`m a pretty laid-back dude with a desire to help others in need. Introvert, but, sympathetic and sociable too. I`m confident with most of my abilities and I always have the willingess to learn new stuff. Knowledge is power, in my opinion. I have an almost mechanical rationality for some things and I try my best to finish the stuff I promise…even if I procastinate a lot.

That leads me to the part of myself than can annoy some people. I always state my opinion in the most clearer of ways. If there`s something I don`t like I won`t hesitate to say it. I can be really blunt at times. I love sarcasm and I do have a hint of a superiority complex, but mosly, in real life. Fortunately enough, I`m aware of these problems and I try they don`t get the best out of me.

Bring the next question… :D

GS: Lol great response! Don’t worry about making it too long man we love to hear from you. Alright on we go!

GS: Question 2: Describe nHotspot to you in a few words.

HH: A spot to come and relax without the fear of being judged for what you like the most. Altough, it does turn into a nightmare at times, specially when you have to check and modify the code that runs the site.

GS: Question #3: What are your opinions on the current direction of the site?

HH: Sites`s focus has changed as of recently. We started with an emphasis on Nintendo`s platform and, to be more specific, a great emphasis towards Super Smash Bros Brawl. If it wasn`t for that game, nHotspot wouldn`t even exist.

Anyway, people got sort of tired of the game and and most of them started to shift to the other HD consoles. Due to that, we decided to also expand our coverage and give those brands a place in our site. Our new focus is more directed towards any game on any platform. Instead of a NIntendo related site, we soon expect to have a wider site with a broader demography.

GS: Question #4: Do you feel you have learned anything from the people you’ve met here? If so, feel free to tell us what.

HH: Sure I have. Out of the many things I have learned while being here, I`d say that the social interactions we have are the ones I value the most. Of all the time I have spent on the Internet, the members of nHotspot, their discussions and their thoughts, are what I like the most.

For real, sure I have learned several stuff while working here. My English has improved, my knowledge about Web programming has increased, my arbitration abilities have doubled and I have learned a lot about other cultures I`m not used to. BUT, to know and feel what other people think is crucial for our internal growth as better and more dependable human beings.

Thanks to all of you who have teached me that…

GS: Question #5: Are there any snipits or hints you want to give about what cool things we may be seeing in the future here?

HH: I`d like to turn this place into a real, fully working and automated gaming site, but, I`m not an expert programmer. I can only promise stuff according to the potential I have.

In that regard, we are hoping to first change the looks of the current site. Improve it and make it look pleasant to the eyes. Amongst other stuff, I hope for things to be more automatically updated via php handling, but then again, it`s mostly wishful thinking on my side. Remember, this is a hobbie for me, I only come and do my best with the few things I know.

GS: Question #6: What is your absolute favorite gaming series and why?

HH: I really try to not choose an absolute favorite at all. I do have a preference for Nintendo franchises, mostly for nostalgic purposes and gameplay greatness but that`s all, I do no have a favorite series…I do have a bunch of favorites though.

GS: Question #7: If you had one wish, what would you wish for?

HH: If I said world peace, I`d be flat-out lying.

Not that I don`t want to help other people but I would prefer to live in a different place. Not sure of where though, just something different…and more on the normal side of things, economically and socially speaking of course.

GS: Interesting, lol

GS: Question #8: What is your favorite thing to do when you aren’t here?

HH: Play video games of course >.>

Other than the obvious, I do like to read any kind of material that may drop into my hands. Whether it be politics, economics, children`s boks (lol), wikipedia articles, metaphysical books and pretty much everything. I just get absorbed by the letters at times.

Hanging out with friends would be another thing I like to do. I`m introvert kind of guy but I do love to talk and hang with them. Altough, I do have to admit that those occassions are very rare as of lately. Admitedly, we have already seen and done everything this place has to offer and well…its hella lot of boring for the most part to just go out and find nothing to do lol

GS: I think it’s safe to say that you are a big Felicia fan. What is it about her that makes her so appealing (besides the obvious)?

HH: Well, you idolize her as much as I do lol

Anyway, ignoring her cute face with beatiful cat-like eyes, her amazingly curved body, her large breasts, her claws, tail and cat-like mannerism. I do have to say that I`m actually pretty good with her at the old Darkstalkers Arcade games and, more recently, Marvel Vs Capcom 2.

To be honest, I can`t hide my compulsive obsession for her, but then again, who could posibbly not find her attractive? I mean…she likely shows the most skin ever in any game ever made. Makes me wonder how Capcom could get away with that in the mid 90s. Seriously, she makes me wish more chicks in real life sported the tail-thong combo. I once said it to an old friend of mine here, Victoria’s Secret has to get those in and make it happen.

*sigh* I can be such a pervert at times…

GS: Indeed I am quite the Felicia fan myself, and I relate to your reasons as well.

Well lets wrap this interview up,

GS: Last Question: Have anything that you would like to say to all of the members of nHotspot?

HH: Sure I have. Thanks for being part of the nHotspot family. I know that this site doesn`t offer as much as other popular gaming sites on the Internet, but what the hell, I love this place with all its failures.

I`m aware of said failures, and all of them will be dealed in due time. But in the meantime, enjoy what we have and lets shape our community into what we want to see of it. Remember, a community is not made by all the features it have but rather by the members who are part of it. ;)

Thanks for the interview Guru…and thanks to all of you who took the time to read all my ramblings lol

GS: There you have it folks, the mystery is now revealed. Now you know the great HH! I hope this interview sets the standard for all that follow. Tune in next week for another great interview!
